The Queen's Baton
5th July 2022

The Queen’s Baton Relay will be arriving in Shropshire, not once, but twice next month ahead of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games this summer.

The Queen's Baton will arrive via helicopter at Shrewsbury Sports Village and will be carried on an incredible journey across the town by inspirational batonbearers, before arriving in The Quarry for a spectacular evening of celebrations.

From 4pm, you will be able to enjoy delicious food and drink stalls, performances, sports and arts taster sessions, live music and jubilations.

Entry to the celebration event is free but tickets are essential, make sure to book yours now!

The Baton will arrive in Shropshire again on Saturday 23 July, when it will be brought to Bridgnorth by Severn Valley Railway.

From 10am, you will be able to enjoy taster sessions of their different sporting activities including junior football, golf, bowling, rugby, netball, gymnastics and boxing in Severn Park

Please make sure that you come along and support these events if you can, and tell as many people as possible – a chance to celebrate the Queen’s Baton Relay is definitely one not to miss!
